Knockinaam Lodge, an original shooting lodge, is set surrounded by its own cove, facing towards Ireland and the Irish sea. It is a 10 bedrooms, country lodge, set in 40 acres and a private beach at the end of the garden. With a 3 AA Rosette restaurant, based on sustainable local produce, a set 5 course menu is presented at the end of each day (with dietaries included). Run by David and Sian Ibbotson for the past 18 years, where traditional values are as important as the wine list.
Knockinaam Lodge is a boutique hotel that has 10 wonderful bedrooms, of which five boast spectacular sea views and one which is a two bedroom family suite.
A real “home away from home” as all 10 bedrooms delight with their own individual personalities, giving the traditional building a modern feel, each bedroom is complemented with special little touches created by the hosts. Their self-catering Shingle Lodge is just a stone’s throw from the beach and is perfect for a rural retreat or a base from which to explore this wonderful are of Dumfries and Galloway.
If the landscape doesn’t take your breath away, the food will, as this 3 AA rosette restaurant serves a set 5 course menu based on sustainable, local produce. The menu is carefully designed by Head Chef Tony Pierce and his chefs, and they are blessed with outstanding quality seafood and farm produce right on their doorstep, so the team have the pick of the crop and that includes fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs from their very own hotel garden.
